Quality Standards at STEELLY — Material, Welding & Finishing

Brushed stainless steel finish sample at STEELLY

"Quality" is easy to say and hard to prove. This page lists the concrete standards we follow on every job, so you can verify them on your own project — before and after payment.

Material Grades We Use

GradeBest UseHonest Note
SS 202Covered balconies, indoor railings, furniture, partitionsBudget-friendly; moderate moisture resistance
SS 304Main gates, open balconies, staircases, commercial exteriorsRecommended for Dehradun's monsoon and fog
SS 316Highly corrosive or chemical-heavy environmentsUsually not needed for normal homes in Uttarakhand

The quoted grade is written on your quotation and bill — no verbal promises.

Welding & Fabrication Standards

  • Clean TIG/argon welding for visible joints to avoid black burn marks.
  • All cut edges ground smooth — no sharp burrs left on customer-facing surfaces.
  • Material thickness as per quotation; down-gauging is a strict no.
  • Support spacing planned for load, not just for saving material.
  • Structures checked for square, level and alignment before finishing.

Finishing Options & Guidance

Mirror Polish

Premium shine for entrances; needs regular wiping outdoors.

Brushed / Matte

Hides marks and scratches; our default suggestion for exteriors.

Powder Coating

Colour options with added surface protection for gates and furniture.

Hardware & Safety Standards

  • Branded hinges, locks, wheels and anchors — hardware listed in the quotation.
  • Railing heights commonly 3–3.5 ft with child-safe vertical spacing.
  • Fixing into solid concrete or masonry; no shortcut anchoring on weak surfaces.
  • Gates balanced for smooth opening with correct hinge/wheel load rating.

Quality FAQs

How do I know I am getting SS 304 and not 202?

The grade is written on your quotation and bill. You can also ask for material invoices, and simple chemical spot test kits are available in the market. We prefer customers who verify — trust should survive testing.

Which finish shows the least marks outdoors?

Brushed (matte) finish hides fingerprints, rain marks and small scratches better than mirror polish. Powder-coated finishes are best where colour and extra surface protection are needed.

Is thicker pipe always better for railings?

Not always. A balanced design with correct support spacing matters more than simply using heavier pipe. We specify thickness as per load, height and usage, and explain it in the quotation.
